The boys from Jersey have done it again! After the hype surrounding their debut album, The 59 Sound, surely the only way was down. After all, they were catapulted from nobodies to superstars overnight, gracing the covers of magazines, and being compared to a modern day Bruce Springsteen. Surely it couldn’t last? Surely they wouldn’t be able to keep on making ground breaking music. Well the band, made up of Brian Fallon (vocals, guitar) Alex Levine (bass, vocals) Benny Horowitz (drums and percussion) and Alex Rosamilia (guitar, vocals) have proved many critics wrong, judging by these two singles.

The Diamond Church Street Choir” starts of mellow, perfect for a Sunday morning, but once the guitars kick in the true attitude of Brian Fallon shines through and his gruff voice adds a new dimension to the song completely. This song is sure to be an instant sing along anthem for fans of the band.

“Boxer” is an upbeat punk song full of attitude and is sure to be a regular at festivals to come! This song is sure to be an instant sing along anthem for fans of the band!

I’m sure the fans will not be disappointed with the bands latest helping!

At a first glance you would look at the band and think they are some everyday country band, but this trio know how to create a unique, powerful sound.

Lady Antebellum are a successful American country music group formed in Nashville 2006, the band is composed of Charles Kelly (lead and background vocals), Dave Haywood (background vocals. Guitar, piano, mandolin) and Hillary Scott (lead and background vocals). Already the band have been certified as Platinum in the USA

The track opens with the powerful bassand to accompany the male and femalevocals that dominate the track, the strong vocals reflect the lyrics of the song. The lyrics tell a story of love and whatever goes wrong they would run to the one they love. The band can be compared to modern country acts like Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift. SoI’d take a listen online, don’t knock it before you have tried it.

KylieMinogue has made a come back with a bang with her new album Aphroditewhich was released on the 5th of July. On the stylish cover of her album Kylie looks great and healthy. Her style has changed from pop princess to dance diva. Over the time she’s changed dramatically as an artists. I think this is definatley her best album that’s consistently good through out.Her first single ‘All the lovers’ has got to number 3 in the Ukoffcial top 40 chart so far (4th July) and the rest of the album sounds promising with good beats and vocals. If this album gets to number one, it will be Kylie’s first number one album in ten years, her last album to get to number one was ‘fever’ in 2001.Her album was executively produced by Stuart Price and a number of other artists have contributed to the album like Calvin Harris and Jake Shears. Her album has got a realy good sound to it and makes you feel good, Kylie stated in February “you’ll put your make-up on to this album, and that’s not just the girls.”

Birmingham may have lost the bid as capital of culture to Londonderry, even without that status Birmingham hosts one of the best free cultural events in the UK. The arts fest happens in mid September of every year with a range of different cultures coming together to celebrate in the form of art, music and dance.

From Ballet to belly dancers and poetry to punk rock, every aspect of diversity in Birmingham is celebrated.
The 2009 event was brilliant with the chance to see big bands like athlete and Elliot Minor and a great ballet production of Swanlake complete with a grand fireworks finale. The event is situated all around the centre of Birmingham even a small production of “East is East” was performed in a local chip shop!

Arts Fest will be returning to the city from 10th-12th of September and the theme this year will be Landscape and Heritage. A Visual and digital showcase this year alongside past favourites “Cassical Fanstasia” and “Kerrang Fest.”

…And the best thing about it its completely FREE! it’s one not to miss.

Sophie Kinsella has once again wrote another hilarious romantic book called ‘Remember Me.’ It’s about a twenty-eight year old called Lexi who wakes up in a hospital bed after being unconscious. She wakes up thinking she’s twenty-five, with crooked teeth and is in a disastrous relationship but when she looks in the mirror that is’nt correct she has forgotten everything that has happened over the last 3 years of her life. She finds out that she has married a millionaire and she looks like a completely different person with perfect teeth and a slimmer body, she also finds out that she’s the boss of her department.By the sounds of it you would think every thing would be great? But that sounds to good to be true. Lexi finds out she has lost her best friends Fi, Carolyn and Debs because of her ‘cobra’ like ways and a new man drops a bombshell on her. This is a great read that gets you hooked straight away, through out the whole book it keeps you questioning what will happen next? Once you pick the book up it’s hard to put down.

Thorpe Park is a great day out for you and your mates in the holidays.

A day full of excitement and adrenaline rushes is perfect to get rid of all the boredom of summer holidays. Challenge yourself on Colossus, test your fears on Saw the ride or build up your adrenaline for Stealth. There’s also a children’s area for the younger ones, so it’s also a great family day out. And for you people who aren’t too keen on rides, have a go! When I went with my cousins I was forced on every ride, after that I wanted to go on again. There is also a great range of offers going on at Thorpe Park right now. Such as, go one day and come back the next day just for £1! There is also 2 for 1 tickets, so you could be paying just £38 for you and one of your mates to go and enjoy yourself. Hate waiting in huge lines? You can also get a fast track ticket when you’re there for only £3 each, this way your first in line for some of the biggest rides. Go on… test yourself!

Well, it feels like we’ve waited too long for another Toy Story film! Toy Story 3 is set 10 years after the 2nd film and now Andy is all set to leave for college, leaving the toys worrying about what will happen to them.

Mistakenly, the toys are donated to Sunnyside DayCare centre where they are introduced to all the other toys there who welcome them to the centre. Whilst the old favourites such as Buzz Lightyear, Rex, Mr Potato Head and the rest relish the chance to feel wanted by children again, Woody isn’t happy and plans to return to Andy. However, not is all it seems at Sunnyside, as a more sinister side of the daycare is revealed to the toys who realise they have got to escape.

Toy Story 3 still has all the charm the previous movies had, including brilliant jokes and the way it appeals to both children and adults alike. Toy Story 3 also has a serious side to it, which pulls you into the story and makes you really care for the characters.

The Sea Life Centre in Birmingham. Full of fish, obviously, and they have just had a new hammer head shark come in, their new 4-D cinema was an exceptional experience; it was about a 10 minute wait, but it was definitely worth it. You’ll be plunged into the thick of the action as sea lions, dolphins and other sea creatures leap from the screen; as you feel the wind and salt spray on your face and even smell the seaweed. The different paths and scenes were awesome and the otters were very playful and cute, the ocean tunnel was so amazing, especially the giant sea turtles, which were massive and black tipped sharks, who have been joined by some new hammerhead sharks. The Lost City of Atlantis mirror maze was really funny because you just didn’t know where you were going and who was in front of you. I walked into the mirrors a few times! A great way to spend the day for anyone, whatever age!

The Asiana Bridal Show is the biggest Asian wedding exhibition in the country, providing loads of ideas and inspiration for any discerning bride and groom. Whether it is a fuss-free ceremony or an elaborate wedding, the exhibition caters for all. I went with my cousin as she is planning her wedding, and it was fantastic! They had everything from high street stores to the top designers, simple suits to heavy lehngas. But the exhibition wasn’t all about clothes. There were tons of catering services with bright and beautiful stores, including Thorntons! There were also venue stalls and decoration stalls, where they give you advice on how to make your wedding full of passionate colours. The exhibition was held at the Hilton Metropole in Birmingham. It was full of people planning to get married or just to have some freebies. We picked up lots of amazing tips and leaflets for photographers, caterers and designers. There was also the famous mendhi artist Ash Kumar present. He is known to do the fastest mendhi in the world and has printed beautiful patterns on famous Bollywood actresses such as Kareena Kapoor and Deepika Padukone. I had an amazing time and advise anyone else to go to the next show.
