This book is about 5 teenage boys who make their singing dreams come true. They where once boys, now they are the best boy band all over the world. This book tells you about Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louie Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik. A successful boy band. You can know all about their childhood and the X Factor story. Although they came in third place, they made to the top on the book charts with their first book Forever Young. Also their second book hit the charts with loads of screaming fans. Their album got over 5,000 or more people to buy it. They called the police riot vas loads of times. It was very bad at the time. Loads of crazy and exclusive pics of them goofing off and playing jokes on each other. They are very funny indeed. They were never really serious boys they were really messy except for Liam and Louie. Underneath all that crazy is very great guys.

This is the guys at the CD signings. They signed loads of them and gave them out to fans. Their first gig sold out in 12 Seconds!! I couldn’t believe it! The first 4 seconds even almost 50 tickets where gone! Aww, look how cute Harry and Louie are!

I love all the songs but my favourite is Stole My Heart. I think they did a great job on the album and their books. There is a quote on the website that says If you Dream, you can achieve. That is what I am doing.

Game: Batman Arkham City
Platform: X-Box 360, Ps3, Pc
Company: Rocksteady studios
Age Rating: 15
Release date: 21/10/11
Standard Price: £39.99 RRP
Collectors Edition: £ 59.99 RRP

In this much awaited sequel to Batman Arkham Asylum, Batman Arkham City sees the Dark knight prowling the streets of the new maximum security city around Arkham Asylum, a move by Gotham to try to contain the deranged and murderous inmates of Arkham that escaped during the events of the last game.

The villains have doubled you will face: Two face, Mr Freeze, the Penguin, Hugo strange, Talia al ghul (daughter of Raz al ghul), and Deadshot just to name a few. We see the Joker make a come back along with long suffering girlfriend Harley Quinn, the Riddler actually makes an appearance in this game rather than the disembodied voice coming from batman’s listening/connection to Oracle that the Riddler had high jacked, he has also upped is game so that instead of just giving him annoying riddles around Arkham asylum this time if you don’t stop him there are deadly consequences. Poison ivy also makes a comeback in this game.

An interesting concept for this game is the introduction of femme fatale Selina Kyle better known as the vigilante Catwoman. It is her that brings Batman into Arkham City after being captured by disgraced District Attorney Harvey Dent “Two Face”. You not only play as the Dark Knight but you also play as Catwoman who has her own branching storyline for you to play through although theses sections of the game appear to be an optional thing to do.

Now most people just like to by the Game to play it and that’s that, but for the selects few of you Gamers out there like collectables and Rocksteady have a nice selection of collectable goodies for all your fan needs. Ok granted the collectors edition for Batman Arkham Asylum was a bit of a let down with some of the Fans what with the some may say “cheaply made” Batarang that was modelled on the ones used by the caped crusader in the game. Some were disappointed with the case studies and the extra features that came with it. This time how ever Batman Arkham City collector’s edition offers you

• Batman: Arkham City game
• Custom Batman statue produced by Kotobukiya
• Collectible art book
• Early access to the Iceberg Lounge Challenge Map and Batman: The Dark Knight Returns skin
• Batman: Arkham City album from WaterTower Music including original songs by hit artists, available via digital redemption
• Bonus DC Universe animated original movie, Batman: Gotham Knight

English metalcore band and loud mouthed rockers Asking Alexandria are back with their second studio album titled ‘Reckless & Relentless’.

The five piece is made up of lead singer Danny Worsnop, lead guitarist Ben Bruce, rhythm guitarist Cameron Liddel, bassist Sam Bettley and drummer James Cassells. ‘Reckless & Relentless’ incorporates the style of their debut album ‘Stand Up and Scream’ with a combination of a heavy metal and hardcore punk sound fused together with an experimental mix of electro/trance. Front man Danny’s vocal range does not fail to impress in ‘Reckless and Relentless’ as the album includes a perfect blend of death metal growls, high pitched screams and melodic clean vocals. This combined with the loud guitars and drums and the intense breakdowns create a unique and dynamic sound.

The album features some notably heavier songs such as ‘Morte Et Dabo’ and ‘Breathless’ which are sure to get mosh pit lovers pumped. The album also includes ‘Someone, Somewhere’: a track which proves how versatile they are, as it does not include any screaming (a first for the band), filled only with Danny’s breath taking clean vocals and his raw emotion. I cannot pick a favourite /favourites from the album as every song emphasises exactly why Asking Alexandria are amongst the best in the alternative music scene today.
Asking Alexandria have not disappointed with their latest musical masterpiece ‘Reckless & Relentless’ and they have definitely proved that they’re a band to watch out for.

Stronger is an album which categorically challenges the belief that metal and pop should not be merged into one. Unfortunately, DBA haven’t convinced me. Though sounds from parts of the songs on the album are undeniably praiseworthy, the sound as a whole is too soft.

Moving onto the lyrics, I’m aware that the album’s name is ‘Stronger’ but the words to the songs and the songs themselves are weaker than what DBA had previously accomplished. Dead By April’s inclination of having the need to write lovey-dovey lyrics for songs with great rock bass is far more cringe-worthy than any other thing on this earth. Who’d think a bunch of muscled Swedes would write such emotionally puke-worthy songs?

I personally wouldn’t waste up to £9 on this album.

review (Spoiler free)

A film trailer was recently released for The Hunger Games and it stayed at the ‘most viewed video’ spot on YouTube for quite some time. Now why is this? Because it’s brilliant!

Haven’t seen the trailer yet?

Click here to view the embedded video.

There you go.

Excited? You should be. The Hunger Games is a movie based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Suzanne Collins, and it definitely deserves that top spot on YouTube if the movie is anything like the novel. Now I had never read the book but, upon seeing this trailer, I decided to pick it up. And boy, am I glad I did.

As you may have gathered from the trailer The Hunger Games is a story about Katniss Everdeen, a sixteen year old girl who ends up volunteering to participate in The Hunger Games in place of her sister, Primrose. The Hunger Games is a televised event where 24 contestants, called ‘tributes’, aged 12-18 must fight to the death until only one is left standing. Hearing this premise alone is enough to get someone interested in the book, especially seeing as it is a fantastically gripping novel that draws you into its extraordinarily detailed pages right from the very beginning. It’s written in a rather unique style; it’s in first person and it’s in present tense. Whilst it takes a page or two to get used to this style and understand it properly, once you do you’ll be wondering why every other book isn’t written like this. It really makes you feel as though you are with Katniss and are seeing these events unfold at the same time as she struggles to survive the perilous challenges that The Hunger Games throw at her.

Throughout the book you’ll be glued to the page, your heart beating as Katniss races towards her friends’ screams of terror, her feet pounding on the ground alerting nearby tributes to her presence as her soul fills with terror just thinking of what could have happened. It was literally impossible to put this book down and I had to read it in one sitting; I just couldn’t tear myself away!

I’ve done my best to give you my opinion without spoiling the book, as you’ll definitely want to read this one without knowing what happens. Part of the thrill is having to turn over the page in a frantic scramble as you become desperate to know what happens next. And the end will just guarantee you’ll be hunting down the sequel, Catching Fire, in a matter of seconds.

I highly recommend you read this one if you enjoy tales of romance, dark action and an all-round gripping plot. Buy this now! A brilliant book that will keep you glued to the page and leave you desperate for more at the end.

Savannah Levine is a powerful young witch who has never thought twice about using her magic for anything. However, at the age of 21 she is desperate to prove to the world – and her guardians, Paige and Lucas – that she can grow up and be an investigator is her guardian’s supernatural detective agency. So, when she gets a call about three mysterious murders in a small town close by, she seizes the opportunity to attempt to solve the crime. Little did she know that she was going in way over her head – a stalker, a witch trying to murder her, a cult and – possibly the worst- her powers playing up. Savannah is trying her best – but will everything turn out alright, or will her first investigation turn out to be her last?

Waking the Witch was the 11th book of the “Women of the Otherworld” series, and you don’t have to read the previous books to understand this one, as each book has a different storyline. This book had a reasonable about of action, a fast pace and a good dialogue. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I would recommend anyone who loves supernatural with a modern twist to read it.

The Princess of Pop is back! On the final leg of her Femme Fatale tour she packed the LG Arena, despite her critics protestations and proved she still has all the sparkle of a superstar.

As her army of die hard fans filled the arena, it was easy to see that while she may not always be in the charts, her place in the world of pop is undeniable. Sporting her iconic outifts such as the air hostess costume in “Toxic” and the red catsuit in ” oops i did it again” her fans showed how she influenced a generation.

As the lights went down the excitement was palpable, the countdown for Britneys arrival had begun, 5,4,3,2,1 ! The roar of the crowd as she was propelled onto stage in a tiny silver glitter leotard showed just how sorely she had been missed. She met the applause with her first single of her Femme Fatale album “Hold it agianst me” , an up tempo trance number which had the crowd on their feet. However her classic numbers such as “Toxic” and ” Slave for you” proved a phenomenal hit with the crowd as they chanted the words with her.

In true Britney form she had many costume changes, dressed in a 1920′s style lacy leotard for “Lace and Leather” , a can can skirt for her hit ” Seeking Amy” and denim shorts and jewelled bra for the iconic ” Hit me baby one more time”. Though personally i couldn’t help feeling disappointed that she wasn’t wearing her orignal costumes for her notorious chart toppers.

The finale saw Britney suspended in the air by giant feathered wings singing her latest hit “Till the world ends” as glitter confetti exploded throughout the audience and fireworks lit up the stage. Despite her miming, Britney packed a punch with her energetic dance routines and cleverly designed sets and proved she still retains the crown of princess of pop.

As he opens up for Britney Spears on the European leg of her Femme Fatale tour, Joe Jonas takes a huge step away from the Jonas Brothers and their triumph that brought the trio millions of fans, 2 movies, a 3d ‘rockumentary’ and 4 studio albums. And how does he do this? With his own solo album.

Joseph ‘Joe’ Adam Jonas is the lead singer from his band the Jonas Brothers (who are actually brothers, just so you know) and they have had every success from being nominated for a Grammy to performing with the likes of Sir Elton John and Stevie Wonder. They had a tough start getting into the industry, going from singing in church to being signed to Columbia Records, only to be dropped after releasing just one album It’s About Time, but were soon picked up by Disney and Hollywood Records. And the rest is history…

Joe says that they were in Rome when he sat his brothers down and broke the news to them that he wanted to pursue a solo career. They were more than happy for him to do his own thing, as oldest brother Kevin was enjoying the newly married life and youngest Nick was juggling a solo career and going back to Broadway. So having this was the right thing for it!

Younger brother Nick had a crack at the solo life, releasing Nicholas Jonas before the Jonas Brothers were formed and then a second solo album Who I Am at a peak of the band’s success. Now it’s Joe’s turn to hit the spotlight.

Right at the beginning of June, Joe released his lead single See No More to the world and although it’s very different from the band’s pop-rock sound, fans across the globe praised him and pulses were set racing in anticipation for Fastlife. Joe has since released another song Love Slayer and also a second single Just In Love (which has also been remixed by Lil Wayne), all of which whilst going on tour with the UK’s very own Jay Sean and JoJo! Dubbed the Joe Jay Tour, hundreds of thousands of fans got to experience his new music firsthand.

Supporting Britney Spears on Tour

To add to the new found success, Joe has also been opening up for Britney Spears on her Femme Fatale tour, which is currently in the UK! He says that “Britney was the first CD I ever bought” and that it has also been a life long dream of his to perform with her. “Livin’ the dream baby, livin’ the dream!”

Joe Jonas came to Birmingham LG Arena on 30th October and played a really energetic set which the Britney fans enjoyed. He didn’t look lost without the support of his brothers and owned the stage as a solo artist. Joe has been compared to the likes of Justin Timberlake, and moving away from the general pop-rock music he made with his brothers he takes on a completely new sound similar to Timberlake’s with songs like Just In Love and Kleptomaniac sounding very R ‘n’ B and dubstep.

There are also some very honest lyrics (written with Danja and Rob Knox) about past relationships with Joe claiming they “scared him” but are his chance to show the good and the bad of past loves, who include country artist Taylor Swift, Demi Lovato and Twilight actress Ashley Greene.

Collaborating with Chris Brown on See No More (who also co-wrote it) and Lil Wayne with a remix of Just In Love, Joe is definitely stepping away from the squeaky clean image he portrayed with the Jonas Brothers and the album has even been slapped with a Parental Advisory sticker for it’s content from Lil Wayne. Explicit content on a Jonas album? Never!

It is very different from what you’d expect off a Jonas but Joe manages to pull it off and it’s very enjoyable from its upbeat music to sloooooooow, sad songs.

So for now life is brilliant for Joe, who can tick off “performing with Britney” and is soon hoping to make an acting debut in movies, with the 3 brothers promising new music from the band in 2012.

Keri Hilson is an R&B singer who recently toured at Birmingham’s O2 Academy. This is Keri Hilson’s second time in Birmingham as she supported Ne-Yo on his UK tour last year. This is officially her first album tour for the ‘No Boys Allowed’ album.

As a prominent guest vocalist in both the R&B and hip hop genres, Keri has featured on several singles by other artists, including “The Way I Are” with Timbaland and “Superhuman” with Chris Brown. In 2010, she released her second studio album, No Boys Allowed, which spawned the hit single “Pretty Girl Rock”.

Keri had supporting acts such as RD and Star Boy Nathan, these were great opening acts as they got the crowd going and lifted up the energy. It was great to see British acts supporting a huge American star.

My mom and I queued up from 3 o’clock to make sure we were right at the front of the stage. When we got there at 3pm there weren’t many people there which was good because once me and my mom got inside we were at the front row! We took many great pictures of Keri performing. She was an amazing performer and was great singing live! She sounded exactly the same as when you hear her songs on the radio. Every song she sang was powerful and energetic and I would definitely go and see Keri Hilson again. After the concert we met her in the outside and she said hello to us then began to autograph a few fans posters.

During an interview in October 2011, Hilson revealed that she’s currently working on her third studio album. She explained, “There’s some people in the world that aren’t gon’ like this album coming from me … As I was experiencing the world, there were things that I was also experiencing on a personal front, and in my music it’s coming out. There’s a specific few people who ain’t gon’ like to listen to this album. Very emotional, I’ll say that.”

Fright Night is a comedy horror which stars Christopher Mintz-Plasse from the teen film ‘Kick Ass’, ‘Doctor Who’s David Tennent and movie heart throb Colin Ferrel. It’s a remake of the 1985 original Fright Night when a teenage boy Charley Brewster guesses that his new next door neighbour Jerry Dandrige is a vampire. He figures this out from his friend Ed who first suspects the neighbour as being a vampire. When no one believes him about his neighbour he asks Peter Vincent a vampire killer and Las Vegas magician to help him sleigh Jerry.

I think this is a great film which I would definitely watch again and buy on dvd once it comes out. It has a lot of humourous moments which balances out the thriller of the film. I would recommend anyone that loves vampire movies to watch this.
